Description

This Beef and Pepper Rice Bowl is a flavorful and satisfying dish that comes together quickly for a delicious weeknight dinner. Tender ground beef, colorful bell peppers, and a savory sauce served over fluffy rice make for a hearty and tasty meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Additional:

  • 3 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook beef: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Sauté vegetables: Add the sliced peppers, onion, and garlic to the skillet and sauté until tender-crisp, about 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add sauces: Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to coat everything evenly.
  5. Serve: Serve the beef and pepper mixture over warm cooked rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a dash of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or thinly sliced steak.
  • Brown rice or cauliflower rice can be used for a lighter option.
