Description

A quick and delicious Burger Bowl recipe that combines seasoned ground beef with fresh vegetables and a flavorful homemade burger sauce. Perfect for a low-carb meal that’s easy to prepare and packed with classic burger flavors without the bun.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Salad Base

  • 4 cups green lettuce, chopped
  • ½ cup grape tomatoes, sliced
  • ¼ cup dill pickle, chopped
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced or sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Burger Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup sweet relish
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Break the meat apart as it cooks, seasoning with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink.
  2. Drain and Season: Remove the skillet from heat and carefully drain any excess grease. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard for added flavor. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until it melts into the beef.
  3. Prepare the Base: On four serving plates or bowls, evenly distribute the chopped green lettuce to create the salad base.
  4. Assemble the Bowl: Top the lettuce with the warm, cheesy beef mixture. Add sliced grape tomatoes, chopped dill pickles, diced or sliced red onions, and sliced avocado on top.
  5. Make the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, sweet relish, vinegar (or lemon juice), paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and finely chopped fresh parsley until smooth and well combined.
  6. Serve: Drizzle the freshly made burger sauce generously over each bowl just before serving. Enjoy your flavorful and satisfying burger bowls!

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey.
  • Feel free to add other fresh veggies like cucumbers or bell peppers for extra crunch.
  • The burger sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container.
  • If you prefer a spicier sauce, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the dressing.
  • This recipe is naturally low-carb and can be an excellent option for those avoiding bread or looking to reduce carbs.
