Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Dough and Topping
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Optional: breadcrumbs or grated Parmesan for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and creamy.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles laid out on your working surface.
- Fill and Roll: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each dough triangle. Carefully roll each triangle up towards the narrow end, tucking in the sides where possible to keep the filling inside.
- Arrange and Add Topping: Place each rolled crescent seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls evenly with melted butter for a golden finish. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs or grated Parmesan cheese on top for added texture and flavor.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the dough is fully cooked.
- Serve Warm: Once baked, allow the crescent rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm as appetizers, snacks, or paired with a fresh side salad for a light dinner.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works great in this recipe and saves cooking time.
- Add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the filling for a spicy variation.
- These rolls are versatile and perfect as appetizers, party snacks, or a quick light dinner.
- For a crispier crust, you can broil the rolls for an additional 1-2 minutes watching carefully to prevent burning.
