Bread Pudding:

  • 6 cups day-old bread (cubed, such as brioche or French bread)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the bread: Place cubed bread in the dish, sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  3. Make custard: Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Pour over bread.
  4. Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
  5. Prepare cream sauce: Heat cream, sugar, butter in a saucepan. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Serve: Drizzle warm bread pudding with cream sauce.
