Description

This hearty Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce is a flavorful, slow-cooked tomato sauce with browned ground beef and a blend of classic Italian herbs. Perfect for busy days, this recipe allows the sauce to simmer gently in a crockpot, developing rich flavors that are ideal served over your favorite pasta.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef (browned)

Aromatics

  • 2-3 cloves of minced garlic

Tomato Base

  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 small can (8 oz) tomato sauce

Seasonings

  • 1 Tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef until fully browned. Use a slotted spoon to remove the beef and drain excess grease.
  2. Transfer to Crockpot: Place the browned beef into a 4-5 quart crockpot.
  3. Add Ingredients: Add the minced garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried parsley, salt, and pepper into the crockpot with the beef. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Cook the Sauce: Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
  5. Serve: Once cooked, serve the spaghetti sauce hot over your favorite pasta for a satisfying meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, cook uncovered for the last 30 minutes in the crockpot on HIGH.
  • Leftover sauce can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
