Ingredients
Scale
Turkey and Seasoning
- 3 pounds boneless turkey breast
- 1½ teaspoons kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ teaspoon ground paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (¼ stick)
Honey Glaze
- â…“ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (¼ stick)
- 2 tablespoons white wine
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat and Season: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). In a small bowl, combine 1½ teaspoons kosher salt, poultry seasoning, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over the entire surface of the turkey breast. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and dot with 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
- Prepare Honey Glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. Stir in the honey, white wine, Dijon mustard, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper. Cook gently until combined and warmed through, but not boiling.
- Roast the Turkey: Place the turkey in the preheated oven and roast for about 75 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 155°F (68°C) is reached when measured with a meat thermometer.
- Apply Glaze: Remove the turkey from the oven and brush the honey glaze generously over the entire surface. Return the turkey to the oven and continue roasting for an additional 30 minutes, basting with the glaze halfway through. The glaze will caramelize and create a beautifully glossy coating.
- Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring the meat remains moist and tender when carved.
Notes
- Make sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey is perfectly cooked without drying out.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can simmer the honey mixture longer to reduce it further before applying.
- Leftover glazed turkey makes great sandwiches or salads.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially if using salted butter or different honey varieties.
- Resting the meat before slicing is essential to keep it juicy.
