Description

This Irresistible Cottage Cheese and Spinach Quiche is a delicious and wholesome dish perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner. Packed with protein-rich cottage cheese, fresh spinach, and a blend of cheeses, this quiche is easy to prepare and baked to a golden perfection, making it a nutritious and savory treat everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (fresh, room temperature)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded, divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the optimal temperature for baking the quiche evenly.
  2. Sauté Onions: In a pan over medium heat, sauté the finely chopped onion until softened, about 5 minutes, to bring out its sweetness and enhance flavor.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, sautéed onions, chopped spinach, eggs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour the quiche mixture into the dish and evenly sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top for a golden, cheesy crust.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and golden brown on top.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the quiche to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the cottage cheese is at room temperature for better mixing and texture.
  • You can substitute milk with a dairy-free alternative for a lighter version.
  • For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or parsley to the mixture.
  • Use fresh spinach for the best taste, but frozen spinach can be used if well-drained.
  • This quiche can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently before serving.
