Description

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: extra powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
  4. Shape and bake: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet about 1 inch apart. Gently flatten each ball with a fork or the bottom of a glass. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the edges are just barely golden.
  5. Cool and serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once completely cool, dust with powdered sugar if desired.
