- 6 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
- 1 large orange (zested and juiced)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh orange slices for garnish
- Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil to prepare the base for your tea infusion.
- Steep Tea and Spices: Remove the saucepan from heat and add 4 black tea bags, the zest of one large orange, and 2 cinnamon sticks. Cover the saucepan and let the mixture steep for 8–10 minutes, allowing flavors to develop thoroughly.
- Remove Tea Bags and Cinnamon: After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags and cinnamon sticks from the liquid to avoid bitterness.
- Add Orange Juice and Sweetener: Stir in the freshly squeezed juice from the orange and 1/4 cup of honey or sugar while the tea is still warm, mixing well until the sweetener dissolves completely.
- Cool the Tea: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature naturally before transferring to a pitcher.
- Chill: Refrigerate the tea for at least 2 hours until it is thoroughly chilled and refreshing.
- Serve: Pour the chilled tea over ice cubes, garnishing with fresh orange slices and mint leaves for a vibrant and flavorful presentation.
Notes
- For a lighter tea, substitute black tea bags with green tea bags during steeping.
- Add a splash of sparkling water just before serving if you prefer a fizzy twist.
- Adjust sweetness level according to your taste preference by modifying the amount of honey or sugar.
