Description

These Reuben Sliders offer a delightful twist on the classic Reuben sandwich. Made with tender shredded corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, creamy Thousand Island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese, all layered between sweet Hawaiian rolls and baked with a flavorful garlic butter topping, these sliders are perfect for gatherings or a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded corned beef (cooked)
  • 1 ½ cups sauerkraut (drained)
  • 3 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls

Garlic Butter Topping

  • ½ stick butter (½ cup)
  • ¼ teaspoon beef broth base
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Prepare the roll base: Slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally without separating the individual buns, creating a base layer for the sliders.
  2. Layer the fillings: Spread the shredded corned beef evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Next, distribute the drained sauerkraut on top of the beef. Then, drizzle the Thousand Island dressing evenly over the sauerkraut. Finally, place the Swiss cheese slices across the layered ingredients.
  3. Add the top layer: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese layer to cover the sliders.
  4. Make garlic butter mixture: In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the minced garlic, beef broth base, grated Parmesan cheese, and dried thyme until fully combined and aromatic.
  5. Brush the sliders: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops of the buns, ensuring the entire surface is coated to add flavor and help browning during baking.
  6. Bake the sliders: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice into individual sliders if still connected, and serve warm for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Ensure the sauerkraut is well-drained to prevent the sliders from becoming soggy.
  • For an extra kick, consider adding a sprinkle of caraway seeds with the sauerkraut.
  • These sliders can be assembled in advance and baked just before serving.
  • If Hawaiian rolls aren’t available, dinner rolls or slider buns work as good substitutes.
  • To keep the tops crusty, you can broil for 1-2 minutes after baking but watch carefully to avoid burning.
