Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
Add-ins
- 1 cup cooked small shrimp, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Coating (optional)
- ½ cup finely chopped pecans or slivered almonds
Instructions
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and hot sauce if using. Mix until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Fold in shrimp and herbs: Gently fold the finely chopped cooked shrimp, green onions, and fresh parsley into the cream cheese mixture, ensuring even distribution without breaking up the shrimp too much.
- Shape the dip log: Place a sheet of plastic wrap on your counter. Spoon the mixture into the center of the wrap. Using the wrap, shape the mixture into a tight log, compressing it evenly to hold its shape.
- Coat with nuts (optional): If desired, roll the formed log in the finely chopped pecans or slivered almonds to coat the outside, adding texture and a nutty flavor.
- Chill the dip: Wrap the log tightly in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. This chilling allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up for easy slicing and serving.
- Serve: Remove from the fridge, unwrap, and slice or serve the shrimp dip log chilled alongside crackers, crostini, or fresh vegetable sticks for dipping.
